The Free Summer Lunch program will continue through July 28 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (closed Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4). Any Putnam County child age 4-18 is welcome at the TNT Center located at the 706 Pine Avenue Police Substation. Numerous area churches, civic clubs and community organizations are providing free, fun activities and fellowship programs to the kids each day. Quawana’s Closet, located at 706B Pine Avenue, will have a grand opening on August 3 and 4 for all HRS residents. Free clothing of various sizes for children and adults. Must bring identification. Details will be in the August newsletter.
New Faces We want to welcome Chris Meness and Christina Motley, both college students, who are serving as AmeriCorps volunteers with our summer youth programs. We also welcome Dominik Hinkleman, a TTU student intern who has been working with several of our HRS resident programs.
HRS After-School program enrollments will begin in late July/early August. This year, we are trying something different. The TNT program will be for HRS youth in the Cookeville area who are in grades 7-12 (previously grades 5-12). Our KIDS Matter after-school reading program will now be for youth in grades K-6.
