LIHEAP Sign-Ups. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program sign-ups begin Oct. 1 at local UCHRA offices. Applications are expected to be different, and required documentation will possibly change. Plan on needing your original Social Security card, original Social Security award letter (bank statement will not work) or paycheck stubs for proof of income, current utility bill and utility cost printout for the past year. 

Incomplete applications will not be processed, and you will not be contacted. If you have any questions, you may contact your local UCHRA office closer to Oct. 1. 

Angel’s Attic. Fall distribution will be Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church parking garage, 165 E. Broad St., Cookeville. Enjoy free clothing of all sizes, household items, toys, Halloween costumes and refreshments. This event is open to the public.

Street R.A.G.E. Youth Day. Street R.A.G.E. (Reaching a Generation Effectively) Youth Day, sponsored by First United Pentecostal Church, will be Saturday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to noon at the old manager’s office, 509 N. Murray St., Gainesboro. Loads of fun and games, food and words of encouragement. All residents are welcome.
