Melinda's Memos. Annual recertification interviews for ALL of Gainesboro, Boatman Street and Darwin Street will be conducted this month.  You should receive a letter notifying you of your appointment date and time. Questions? Call me at 931.526.9793 ext. 220.

Kathy's Corner. Monday morning job postings in the main office lobby have been temporarily discontinued. We will announce when this service resumes. Meanwhile, need community service hours or want to get ahead? HRS offers eight hours of opportunities each month. 

Winners' Circle. Our “What Home Means to Me” poster winners are:

  • Grades K – 5 • Malerie Dickerson, Baxter
  • Grades 6 – 8 • Kimberly Gaw, Cookeville
  • Grades 9 – 12 • Veronica Martinez, Cookeville

Their posters have been sent to the state contest in Nashville. Check out our Facebook pages [2] to see pictures of our winners!

Tax Free! Tennessee’s Sales Tax-Free holiday weekend begins at 12:01 a.m on Friday, August 1, and ends Sunday, August 3, at 11:59 p.m. Certain clothing, school supplies and computers will not be taxed. Check out tn.gov/revenue/salestaxholiday for more information.

Resident Council. The next meeting is Tuesday, July 8, at the HRS main office community room from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nominations will be accepted for the position of treasurer. Plus, Jean T. Smith with UCHRA will share information and applications for assistance programs. “Meet the Council” continues in Cookeville to promote council activities. Resident Council attendance counts as four hours of community service. Our monthly bread distribution will also be held during the meeting.

Maintenance Minutes. Please help our staff by calling in work orders on a timely basis. 

Timely Tidbits. The office will be closed for Independence Day on Friday, July 4.
