Resident Council: It's a Happening Place To Be [1]

Get Down to Business. Resident Council will meet on Tuesday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in the HRS main office community room. After the council’s business meeting, the annual Resident Advisory Board meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Attendance counts as four hours of community service. All residents are invited to attend.

Officer Position. The position of council secretary is open and will be voted on at the May meeting. If you are interested in serving, please attend the meeting.

Bread Time. The monthly bread distribution is now being held during Resident Council. Disregard what is in the 2014 HRS calendar. Meeting attendance isn’t required to pick up bread, but we would love to have you.

Meet the Council. Council officers visit various housing sites to promote council activities. They have been to Baxter, Algood and Monterey so far this year. In May, they plan to go door-knocking in the Gainesboro area.

Dress to Impress. Johnnie Wheeler of the UCHRA Career Center recently spoke to the Resident Council. The center provides free services like resume preparation and a clothing closet for interviews. Visit 580 S. Jefferson, Suite A in Cookeville to utilize these services without having to register at the center. (Photo: Johnnie Wheeler demonstrates proper interview attire for the council.)
