Kathy's Corner
Applications are now being accepted for an AmeriCorps volunteer to work with HRS residents beginning late summer through next year. AmeriCorps provides a living allowance (money deposited into your bank account to spend as you choose) and money for education. This will not affect any current benefits. If you or someone you know would be interested in serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer, applications are available at the main office, or you can call me at (931) 526-9793, ext. 212
Misty's Minutes
Imagine this — the taste of a homegrown, ripe tomato on a bologna sandwich, the crunch of fried zucchini, or the aroma of fresh green beans. Mouthwatering, isn’t it? This and more can be yours each week this summer at the Community Garden. There are a lot of opportunities for you to get involved and reap the harvest. The garden has moved to the TTU Shipley Farm, where it’s super easy to get to and offers shelter and restrooms. Several HRS residents have worked at the garden over the past two years. It’s all free, and supplies are furnished. For more information on days and times to work at the garden, or for transportation to the garden, call Misty at (931) 526-9793, ext. 224.

All HRS residents are invited and welcome to attend. If you need transportation, please call Misty at (931) 526-9793, ext. 224, regarding availability.
