AmeriCorps provides a living allowance and money for education while not affecting any current benefits.

 

Misty's Minutes

“Stepping On” Falls Prevention Program This free class begins April 6 (preregistration day) from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. every Thursday for 6 weeks at the Putnam County Senior Citizens Center at 186 South Walnut Ave., Cookeville. For more information call the Senior Center at (931) 526-9318.

Looking for a new job? Need resource information? Every Monday, an updated listing of current local jobs is posted in our main office lobby. I also have a listing of area community resources which contains information on food and clothing banks, utility or rental assistance, and much more. If you have specific questions or needs, call Misty at (931)526-9793 Ext. 224.

Walnut Village/Willow Heights Easter Luncheon Residents will meet Thursday, April 20th from 1 – 3pm at the Walnut Village manager’s office # R-5 for an Easter luncheon. Everyone is invited to join in and bring your favorite covered dish. Meat, green beans, bread & drinks furnished. We hope you’ll come – we’ll have a great time!

Also, a special thank you goes to Food Lion, Jackson St. for donating flowers and balloons for the Walnut Village Valentine’s Day social.
