Fall Break Fun!

Fall break was loads of great fun! Our Fall Funday was enjoyed by HRS youth. At the event, they could do arts and crafts, play games, eat lunch and have a fun, safe place to go that day. Our TNT youth spent one day visiting Amazin’ Acres — getting lost in the corn maze, picking pumpkins to take home, enjoying hay rides, and more. The afternoon was spent having a picnic and hike to Burgess Falls. A great time was had by all!

Toys for Tots and Holiday Donations It’s that time of year to be thinking of Christmas. Putnam County Toys for Tots signups will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cookeville Police Department. However, if your child has already completed the same application through school or HRS, you will only need to apply one time. If you live in Jackson or Clay counties, check with your local school system or Head Start program for up-to-date information on Christmas assistance, as official information has not been received yet. We are also accepting donations for Christmas for our TNT and KIDS Matter programs. Suggested items are new chapter books for teens, puzzle books, nail or hair products for girls, all kids of balls, adult or youth coloring books, felt-tip markers or crayons, and wrapping paper.

Any donations can be dropped off at the HRS main office, 235 West Jackson St., or call Shaquawana at (931) 526-9793, ext. 213.
