Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) [1]

LIHEAP - Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) applications for winter energy assistance are now available at your local UCHRA office or at the HRS main office lobby. If you need help completing your application, please contact Misty at ext. 224 or email mparker@highlandsrs.com [2].

Misty Parker, AmeriCorps Volunteer, will be at the following HRS locations near you and can help you complete the application.

  • Algood Gazebo, Lane Drive: Wednesday, Sept. 1, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Boatman/Darwin, old manager’s office Boatman Street: Wednesday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • Pine, Cypress, 5, 6, 7, 8th Streets, Pine Avenue police substation: Tuesday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. • Buffalo Valley/ Coffelt Gazebo: Wednesday, Sept. 21, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Willow Valley/ Newman at Willow Valley Court manager’s office: Friday, Sept. 23, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Celina, Soil Conservation office, 301 Green Street: Monday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • Baxter Community Room: Tuesday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
  • Gainesboro, old manager’s office, 509 N. Murray Street: Wednesday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and Community Room, 106 Maple Street: 1-3 p.m. • Monterey Community Room, 819 Jackson Street: Thursday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Please bring with you:
  • A CURRENT and a 12-month printout of your electric bill or gas bill.
  • If your entire household receives food stamps and is on the same open case, UCHRA can get your income documentation and Social Security numbers for you.
  • If you or someone on your lease does not receive food stamps, then you will need to bring Social Security cards and proof of income, such as check stubs or SS award letters.
