Home-Buyer’s Class
Learn about purchasing a home at this free and open-to-the-public class sponsored by U.S. Bank and HRS. The class will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the HRS main office community room at 235 W. Jackson St. Lunch will also be provided. Take advantage of HRS food giveaways. This year we’ve given away bread, sweet potatoes, corn and yellow squash. Thanks to our Area Agency on the Aging Food Gleaning project for providing the food.

Angel’s Attic of First United Methodist Church at 204 E. Spring St. in Cookeville will have their Fall Giveaway on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in their parking garage. Enjoy free clothing (including vintage wedding dresses), household items and refreshments!

Walgreens of Cookeville on Willow Avenue is hosting a day for seniors ages 55+ on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will provide information and food. Plus, throw away old medications safely at “Drug Take-Back Day.”
