Quawana’s Coats. Last year, Shaquawana Wester collected more than 1,000 coats to give away. On Saturday, Oct. 26, Shaquawana will again be giving coats away for National Make a Difference Day. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until all coats are gone), anyone in the community can come by the main office community room at 235 W. Jackson St. to pick up a free coat, no questions asked. Several community groups are collecting coats, and donations are already pouring in.

Lending a Hand. For Make a Difference Day, Becky Hyder will be working with local churches to enlist volunteers to work with HRS elderly or disabled residents that are waiting for government aid.

If you have any questions about HRS activities for Make a Difference Day, call Shaquawana or Becky at 931.526.9793 ext. 213.
