Kimberly Gaw, 12, from Cookeville and Dori Bullard, 15, from Cookeville won Tennessee’s “What Home Means to Me” poster contest sponsored by the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.

Congratulations to Kimberly and Dori, whose entries will be submitted to the national contest in Washington, D.C. The national winners will be announced in September.

The HRS Resident Services department participates in the poster contest every year. This event is for all housing youth in grades K-12.

The contest encourages youth to get together on-site and design their own “What Home Means to Me” poster for an opportunity to win cash prizes and go on to state and national contests.

HRS resident Kayla Padgett of Celina won the national grand prize in the 2012 poster contest. Her poster, captioned “Home is where good things come together,” was featured in the 2013 Housing America calendar.
