The Community Garden is alive and growing! All residents are welcome to work at the Sun, Seed and Soil community garden, sponsored by Seed Fork of the Highlands every Friday. Work time begins at 8 a.m., as it’s easierto work before it gets too hot.

The garden is all free; you simply help grow the food, which you harvest and take home to enjoy. Some yummy vegetables planned include cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, corn, green beans, melons, potatoes, onions, peppers, greens and herbs. The taste of fresh veggies is so good. Plus, it is great exercise and fun being with others while you do something productive for yourself and family. Adaptive tools, shelter and support are provided. You may bring water, snacks and sunscreen and wear garden clothes/supportive shoes. For more information or transportation inquiries, please call Misty at (931) 526-9793, ext. 224.

The TNT Garden is growing beautifully thanks to Ellen with Sun, Seed and Soil; our volunteers; and several dedicated TNT members who are taking great pride in their garden. The teens have planted tomatoes, onions, basil, melons and squash in small flower beds at the TNT Center. Not only are the teens learning new skills, but this will provide them with fresh food to use during their summer day camp culinary classes.
