Walnut Village Bingo Day will be Thursday, May 19, at 2 p.m. at the Walnut Village Manager’s Office #R-5. We’ll also have some light refreshments and perhaps some surprises! All Walnut Village residents are welcome to join us.
Don’t Quit, Just Come! Tobacco Cessation Classes. This month's group will meet on Tuesday, May 10 from 2 - 3 p.m. at the HRS Main Office, 235 West Jackson Street. Remember, each class stands alone, so you can attend one time or come on a regular basis. Plus, there’s no joining, commitments or expectations. Our instructor, Randy Todd, has been teaching Quit 4 Life classes for over 20 years.
A Job Fair will be held at the UCHRA Career Center 580 South Jefferson east end parking lot (inside if rain) on Thursday, May 5, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Numerous employers will be on location, so bring your resume and dress for success. Come prepared to complete applications or have impromptu interviews. To help job seekers prepare, on Wednesday, May 4, the Goodwill Career Center located at 565 C South Jefferson will conduct “mock” job interviews.
Grief Share Support Group meets on Mondays is a way to receive help and encouragement after the loss of a spouse, child, family member or friend. Often, friends and family want to help you with your grief, but don’t know how. Grief Share is led by caring people who understand and have been in the same place. The group meets on Mondays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Magnolia House in the First United Methodist Church, 165 E. Broad Street, Cookeville and on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Dyer Funeral Home, 798 South Willow Avenue, Cookeville. For more information, call (931) 526-2177.
