Reading Program: University Heights Baptist Church, along with HRS, has begun an after-school reading program for kids in grades K - 4th who live in the 7th and Pine Street area. The group is led by Mrs. Lisa and Ms. Janie with University Heights Baptist Church. The program meets every Tuesday as soon as the TNT Center in the Police Substation. 706 Pine Ave. The children have a snack, fun reading games or story time, and get to check out books to read at home. The program will not meet if school is closed or bad weather is approaching. We are planning to start a second location after the first of the year at the main office. Please consider bringing your child to these reading programs. Studies show that children who read perform much better in school, with higher grades and improved learning ability,  and graduate with plans for further education.
