Youth News: Setting Off Some TNT (No, Not That Kind!)

Apply for TNT

Putnam County schools start back this month and so does the Teens Need Training after-school program! Letters will be mailed to Cookeville-area residents that have children eligible for TNT to announce the opening of applications to join TNT.

TNT is available to 22 HRS youth in grades 5 through 12. The group meets Mondays and Wednesdays after school. We provide tutors, homework assistance, access to a computer lab and snacks. TNT members also have opportunities to participate in fun events. This year, parents are required to attend a TNT enrollment meeting and will be expected to be involved with TNT. Please consider applying for your child or children; the rewards are great! If you have any questions, please call me at 931.526.9793 ext. 213.

Summer Lunchin’

Summer lunch is still going strong! The program is open to children through age 18, and participants must be able to eat a school lunch meal. The lunches are provided Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until July 18 (with the exception of Friday, July 4) at the 706 Pine Ave. police substation. Not only do participating children receive a healthy lunch, but they enjoy fun and games provided by area churches.

TNT Wish List

TNT operates under Highlands Residential Resources, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are greatly appreciated.
