Don’t Quit, Just Come

Everyone is invited to our free “Don’t Quit, Just Come” Smoking/ Tobacco Cessation Classes on Tuesdays, July 8 and 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the HRS main office, 235 West Jackson St. Learn the skills you need to avoid smoking or how to “Quit 4 Life” now. If you are a nonsmoker but are concerned about someone you know that does smoke, please join us. These classes are open to the public, and you can participate at any time. Each meeting counts as two hours of community service. 

P.O.P. in the Park

Celebrate the beginning of another safe, drug-free school year with Power of Putnam and its community partners on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dogwood Park pavilion in Cookeville. The day will feature food, fun and games, giveaways (like school supplies and prescription drug lock boxes) and more. This free event is open to the public. Social Security Goes Paperless

Beginning in August, Social Security number printouts will no longer be available. If you have lost your card, you must apply for a replacement. In October, printed benefit verification letters will no longer be available. However, you can obtain your benefits letters online anytime at socialsecurity.gov/myaccount or by calling 1.800.772.1213.
