The 5th Annual Quawana’s Coats was a huge success. An estimated 2,000 coats and jackets of all sizes were donated, with approximately 400 families served. There were 100 volunteers from several clubs, groups, churches and resource organizations who registered to help that day. There were numerous vendor booths, lots of refreshments, music and games. Remaining coats were distributed to other area coat drives or clothing shelters. A big thank you goes out to Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ for the use of their building on Make a Difference Day.

Christmas Toys We are currently accepting donations of Christmas gifts for our TNT and KIDS Matter programs. Suggested items are new chapter books for teens, puzzle books, nail or hair products for girls, all kinds of balls, adult or youth coloring books, felt-tip markers or crayons, and wrapping paper. Any donations can be dropped off at the HRS main office, 235 West Jackson Street, or you may call me at (931) 526-9793, ext. 213.

* HELLO OUT THERE TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS * Remember when you were a child, and the sheer delight you had in waking up on Christmas morning to find presents under the tree? And even better, when at least one of the presents was exactly what you wanted? Or the joy that filled your heart watching your child tear into a present and hold it tightly while shouting with excitement? We want to encourage our communities to support your local toy drives, angel trees and Toys for Tots. Without your help, many children may not receive anything at all for Christmas. Thank you in advance.
