TNT: A Special Trip to Cookeville’s Tutco

Teens Need Training at Tutco

Teens Need Training ended the 2013 summer program with a visit to Tutco.

TNT was the first youth program to be allowed inside the factory.  The objective was to educate children on the many choices after high school graduation. The main message? STAY IN SCHOOL!

During the visit, Tutco also provided snacks and backpacks with school supplies for the kids. TNT and all our participants want to send a big thanks to Tutco for their incredible hospitality and thoughtful gifts.

Meanwhile, Teens Need Training is getting ready to gear back up! We are currently taking applications; however, a high number of applicants may necessitate a waiting list.

For those interested in signing up, TNT is for youth in grades 5—12 that live with Highlands Residential Services in Cookeville. We meet two afternoons each week for homework and tutoring assistance, computer lab, snacks, educational guest speakers and more. If you have questions, call Shaquawana Wester, youth programs coordinator, at 931.526.9793 ext. 213 or SWester@HighlandsRS.com.
